Exam piece spent 10 HOURS DOING THIS. It is (supposed) to be a skull illusion that we have created around a theme My theme was under the sea and I painted it using water colour and acrylic paint :)

  1. A very successful piece! The little touches of detail you gave to all the little sea creatures make the viewer want to get up close and interact with this piece, to be able to notice all these little detailed touches. They give the work character and give the viewer reasons for coming back for a second third and fourth look. I'd really like to see a few more textures in the seaweed/ reeds as they are in the foreground they would ideally be the most detailed objects present.

This portfolio as a whole would benefit from some really well observed studies of fish and other sea life. Don't just work from photos though. Go to a fishmonger and buy a beautifully patterned real one, experiment with water colours overlaid with colour pencil for some stunning tones, colours and textures
